Inclusive Workplaces (DEIJ)

Generative and collaborative Peer Learning Community for Inclusive Workplaces

Welcome to our Inclusive Workplace DEI community, where every one of us is a leader—whether by title or through the power of our relationships, we can contributively lead with those around us. Together, we’ll seek to understand culturally responsive practices and explore what inclusive school cultures feel and look like. Grounded in Equity Leadership Dispositions, our community encourages action-oriented equity work within our own spheres of influence while providing a supportive space to uplift one another. Let’s creatively explore, share, and be true to our growing edges together

Ruth Herrin

Ruth is a passionate educator and leader committed to creating safe and inclusive learning environments for all students. Originally from the Ozarks in the United States, she spent much of her adult life working in international contexts, advocating for belonging, diversity, equity, and inclusivity. Having worked in China, Nepal, Mexico, and the United States, Ruth has built a educational leadership practice on a foundation of trust, collaboration, and voice – the work is not about individual achievements but about nurturing the collective capacity of our community. Ruth believes that by working with an anti-racist and anti-bias mindset, we can work to redesign our educational practices and structures to support all learners, rather than asking learners to change themselves to fit our practices. Education is liberation – it is a process of acquiring knowledge and a journey of growth and development with those around us.
