Stronger leadership behind every school decision
Every admissions conversation, staffing decision and operational response shapes how a school works and how its community experiences it.
SAC brings together the professionals responsible for these decisions. Through practical workshops, real cases and candid peer exchange, you will explore how to lead your team, improve coordination across departments and respond confidently when the stakes are high.
Now in its 8th edition, SAC has welcomed delegates from Indonesia, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and beyond. In Hong Kong, we look forward to bringing together an even larger and more international community.
Venture Education is the
Official Intelligence Partner of SAC Hong Kong 2027.
The partnership connects Venture’s research into the international education market with the practical decisions school leaders and administrative teams make every day.
Venture will lead a separate Hong Kong Education Leaders Briefing on Friday morning and contribute a workshop during SAC that afternoon. Venture and PeerSphere will also gather perspectives during the conference and develop a post-conference intelligence report.
Together, these activities give school leaders a wider view of the forces affecting international schools and give administrative teams space to consider what those changes mean for their work.
Hong Kong
Education Leaders Briefing
Hong Kong, China and the future of international schools
Friday, January 22, 2027 | 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
(The morning before Day 1 of SAC)
Led by Julian Fisher, co-founder of Venture Education, this three-hour briefing is designed for Heads of School, principals, owners, boards, school-group executives and other senior stakeholders.
Drawing on Venture’s market mapping and surveys, the briefing will examine school capacity, fees, curricula, family expectations, mainland demand, demographics and regional competition. Participants will have time to question the evidence together and consider what it means for their school’s position and long-term decisions.
Julian Fisher
Employability and entrepreneurship advocate
-
Julian spent nearly a decade teaching history and history of art in Harrow Beijing (which he joined in its founding year) while also working as an IELTS examiner for the British Council.
In the latter job, speaking to thousands of Chinese students, he understood first hand the challenges that many of them faced in developing confidence, making ideas happen and moving beyond education to lead fulfilling and meaningful careers and lives. Then he met Zhubei and in the first year of Venture they talked. A lot. He leads the consultancy arm of Venture that supports schools, universities and education organisations to thrive in China.
Julian is the Chair of the British Chamber of Commerce in China and Chair of the Chamber’s Education Forum which includes driving initiatives such as Employability Week and the Young Professionals Development Programme. He is also a mentor for Durham University, former president of the China North Entrepreneurs’ Organization and a strategic advisor for the innovative edtech platform Globiliti. He graduated with a joint degree in History of Art from UCL and SOAS and has a masters in Antiques from UCLAN.
Briefing fee
USD 230 early bird through November 30, 2026; USD 280 thereafter. Places are limited to 40.
Bring the perspective back to your school
A Senior Leader who attends the Venture briefing unlocks 15% off SAC registration for participants from their school, including themselves if they also attend SAC. The benefit applies at the school level, so colleagues can join the conference and explore how to respond to the challenges discussed in the morning.
If colleagues from your school are registered for SAC, the Senior Leader is also eligible for 15% off the Leaders Briefing.
You can register for the briefing, SAC or both through the same form, choosing a ticket for each person.
Three strands.
Challenges your team knows well.
Connect with peers who understand your responsibilities and explore how your work supports the wider school.
Admissions & Marketing & Communications
Build trust from the first enquiry onwards.
Explore how your team can communicate your school’s value, strengthen relationships with families and deliver a consistent experience across admissions, marketing and communications.
HR & Operations / Facilities
Strengthen the people and systems that keep your school moving.
Explore recruitment, retention, staff experience and policy in practice, alongside the coordination of facilities, contractors and operational systems.
General Administration
Turn complex demands into coordinated action.
Explore how administrative leaders can improve processes, support clear decisions and connect work across departments. Build confidence in managing competing priorities and maintaining trust.
Bring your school team.
Take more learning back.
Attend together to explore shared challenges from different perspectives and turn individual learning into coordinated action at school.
Day 1 offers four parallel deep-dive workshops. Consider sending one colleague to each workshop, then bringing the group together to share insights and agree on next steps. Everyone can choose the workshop and Day 2 sessions most relevant to their role.
Special rates for 4+ colleagues from the same school
Early bird, through November 30, 2026: USD 345 pp (Individual rate: USD 390 pp)
Standard, from December 1, 2026: USD 410 pp (Individual rate: USD 460 pp)
Attend the Leaders Briefing and save on SAC
A briefing attendee unlocks an additional 15% off SAC registration for their school, including their own SAC place if they register for both events. The 15% discount combines with either early bird rate.
The four-person rate requires four SAC registrations from the same school. A Leaders Briefing ticket alone does not count toward that total; a leader registered for both the briefing and SAC does count as an SAC delegate.

Keynote Speaker
Joy Qiao
Founder & Chair of Wellington College Education (China)
Keynote Title:
Beyond Compliance: Building a School Worth Belonging To
-
Joy Qiao founded Wellington College Education (China) in 2009. Under her leadership, the group has developed a growing network of bilingual schools and international schools recognised for their academic excellence, deep integration of Eastern and Western pedagogies and a strong commitment to human flourishing in the age of AI.
Joy has become a leading voice in rethinking education for the age of AI, advocating for a model that prioritises human flourishing—the lifelong capacity to understand and appreciate the world, navigate complexity with adaptive intelligence and ethical judgment and act with purpose to shape a better future for oneself and others. Her work explores how schools can remain deeply human in an increasingly technological world, ensuring that young people are not only future-ready, but also grounded and purposeful and able to build meaningful connections across differences.
Central to this vision is the belief that education should bridge cultures. Joy has been instrumental in shaping schools where Eastern and Western philosophies do not simply coexist but meaningfully inform and challenge one another. She believes the best education draws meaningfully on both Eastern and Western traditions—combining depth, discipline, and respect for learning with an emphasis on individuality, creativity, and critical thinking. In a world increasingly shaped by technology, she believes navigating across cultures and value systems is among the most essential skills that young people can develop.
Originally from Shanghai, Joy earned her BA in Computer Science at the University of Oxford, which led to a decade-long IT career in the United Kingdom, Germany and China. Joy and her British husband have two sons who attended Wellington College International Shanghai.
More keynote details to be announced.
