Welcome to our community of international school secondary math teachers who are passionate about continuous improvement of instruction and leadership! Together, this inclusive community will collaborate to promote enthusiasm among both students and math teachers, welcoming participants from novices to veterans. We will build a network of partners who share a desire to develop students with a strong foundation of skills that allow flexible problem-solving, critical thinking, and conceptual understanding. As a community, we will share triumphs, challenges, and resources to support each other in fostering engaged, curious mathematical minds.

Meet Your Hosts
Heidi Rhodes
As a young teacher-leader, Heidi encountered the power of teachers learning together to improve student achievement; over five years, she and her 16 colleagues raised scores 30 percentage points, from 10 points below the state average to 10 above. In that experience, the team proved true their theory of action—if students are empowered to collaboratively solve rich mathematics problems, they will develop perseverance and understanding, resulting in increased achievement. Those early years shaped Heidi’s deep respect for the professionalism of teachers and the necessity of building a shared vision of excellent pedagogy. She has shared this passion with others through designing and leading professional development in math pedagogy and leadership across schools in the US and worldwide.

Talking to colleagues are super important and finding what their different experiences and opinions are is valuable. I would like to continue having these discussions but also reach a point of decision on things moving forward, things we can use or trail in our teaching.
It is interesting to hear so many different / common viewpoints from everyone... The discussions further strengthen what I believe when it comes to teaching math.
The conversations between members and hosts are very good, and the content of the topic is very relevant. Everyone can communicate and feedback different opinions to learn.
