Meet Your Hosts
Amy Lee Pollard
Amy-Lee Pollard is excited to co-host this year’s Early Childhood Education – Practices and Pedagogy community, continuing her role from last year. With a Master of Arts in Education, she has dedicated her career to education, starting in environmental education in South Africa, where she taught students from preschool to university level about nature conservation. In 2017, Amy became an international educator in China, teaching kindergarten. She has held leadership roles, including Kindergarten Curriculum Coordinator and currently Learning Lead for the Kindergarten grade level. A passionate play advocate, Amy-Lee believes that ‘play is the child’s work’ and strives to implement developmentally appropriate practices in her teaching.
Donita Bell
As an educator, now Assistant Head of Primary, Donita is continuing her professional learning continously through professional communities, reading, posting, writing, and leading workshops in person. Most strongly advocating for the importance of first years of a child`s life in families and at school through singing, storytelling, sharing books, and play. Donita loves to learn beside others to implement evidence and research-based practices and pedagogies that set contribute to the potential impact upon nurturing young humans. Be inspired to continue learning with me to be the best Early Childhood educators we can possibly be.

Lots of resources shared, experienced presenters, a fun time of learning with colleagues.
Invaluable information about sensory play. The visuals and structure of the presentation helped me get a clearer picture of what I could implement within my teaching context. I had fun and enjoyed sharing ideas and learning from others.
I enjoyed having meaningful conversations with everyone. This was a good start to this learning community. Time flies when you are engaged in meaningful learning.
I enjoyed the conversations with other colleagues and I love the videos and readings shared by the facilitators.
