Meet Your Hosts
Bronwen Jones
Believing that being an educator is a privilege, and being an International educator even more so, Bronwen Jones takes daily inspiration and joy from the students and teachers that she interacts with. A life constantly advocating for educational opportunities, exploring ways to develop resilience and for celebrating success, whether this success being a student being able to deliver a presentation on their own, or remembering to bring their calculator to class, or for writing a well-crafted essay following the rubric given. If that success helps a student gain greater confidence, it is a meaningful step to acknowledge. Breaking down barriers to learning remains Bronwen’s passion, and she hopes to continue exploring learning opportunities for all, with her co-host Sarah Emberger this year.
Sarah Emberger
Sarah Emberger began her journey as an inclusion champion as a language teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator). She has led innovation and change initiatives in Inner City London Schools and worked strategically with curriculum leaders and teachers to ensure students with additional needs received high-quality teaching and individualized support programs that allowed them to succeed. Student-centred review processes and a tracking system for interventions were introduced as part of these efforts. In her current role, she works with BML (Bi- and Multilingual Learners) and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) students. In liaising with SLT, she offers targeted PD sessions to further develop best practice and successful support for all learners.

It was great to share experiences and find connections with other learning support specialists.
The conversations between members and hosts are very good, and the content of the topic is very relevant. Everyone can communicate and feedback different opinions to learn.
After hearing our peer present his situation, we all asked several clarifying questions. For instance, I was curious about the type of evaluation process he would use. We could then ideate with him and share our experiences based on a variety of schools where we had all worked.
Macao is a small community so having the opportunity to connect with other professionals is really helpful!
