Meet Your Hosts

“Play is the work of childhood” – Jean Piaget
As an advocate for the importance of play at every stage of life, this quote deeply resonates with me. In our increasingly globalized society, which often prioritizes speed and efficiency, it is essential that we do not compromise the role of play in education. Play not only fosters developmental appropriateness but also enhances the rigor of learning experiences. It is a fundamental component of growth that should be preserved and valued in our educational practices.
Donita Bell
(Title Pending)
As an educator, now Assistant Head of Primary, Donita is continuing her professional learning continously through professional communities, reading, posting, writing, and leading workshops in person. Most strongly advocating for the importance of first years of a child`s life in families and at school through singing, storytelling, sharing books, and play. Donita loves to learn beside others to implement evidence and research-based practices and pedagogies that set contribute to the potential impact upon nurturing young humans. Be inspired to continue learning with me to be the best Early Childhood educators we can possibly be.

I am impressed by the sharing on Instructional Coaching and have been implementing this in my school and this is a very useful form of support to teachers, especially new ones. It is very important to learn from and be inspired by peers. The sessions are very well run!
After hearing our peer present his situation, we all asked several clarifying questions. For instance, I was curious about the type of evaluation process he would use. We could then ideate with him and share our experiences based on a variety of schools where we had all worked.
