New to Middle Leadership

Will this be your first year leading a team? Are you concerned about managing more experienced team members or managing the expectations of senior leaders?

This community will provide the resources, guidance, and tools needed to address the numerous questions you will face in your new role. During our five 90-minute online sessions over the course of the school year we will explore timely and relevant topics, share best practices, collaborate with peers from similar contexts, and expand our professional network.

Meet the Host:

Michael Iannini

Michael Iannini is ACAMIS’s Leadership Development Facilitator, a Search Associates Partner supporting its members in China to improve Recruitment, Induction, and Retention of Overseas Teachers, and a Council of International Schools (CIS) Affiliated Consultant with the following areas of expertise:

  • Appraisal and Professional Development 
  • Leadership Training
  • School Governance
  • Strategic Planning

Michael’s first book, Hidden in Plain Site: Realizing the Full Potential of Middle Leaders, is the foundation for all his leadership development work. Since writing this book he launched where he is regularly posting articles on school leadership and interviews with school leadership influencers.”

Ray Chow, originally from Canada, is a Beijing-based leadership consultant and executive coach with 25+ years of experience in corporate and educational sectors. Adept in HR and operational leadership, Ray has worked with organizations like EY Ernst & Young and international schools across Asia and Europe. As a PeerSphere facilitator, Ray aims to create an environment that fosters collective learning and growth. Ray specializes in adaptive mindset shifts, cross-cultural communication, talent management, change management, and workplace coaching. He is married to an educator and administrator, raising three children in a bilingual world school in Beijing.
