We welcome science subject leaders from all backgrounds and levels of expertise, so whether you’re a seasoned department leader or just starting out, you’ll find a supportive and inclusive community here.

Meet the Host:

Ewen Bailey

This community will be hosted by Ewen Bailey, an international educator with 12 years experience teaching and leading Secondary Science and Biology. He loves to design and deliver impactful and inclusive learning experiences that makes science meaningful for all students. 

Currently based in Singapore, Ewen previously led a science department at one of China’s top IB World International Schools. He has extensive experience of teaching Grade 6-12 Science, including IBDP Biology, in the UK, Oman, China and Singapore. He also coordinated the science curriculum for Oak National Academy, an innovative online resources hub founded in 2020.

Daniel Owusu Nyantakyi

I’m Daniel Owusu Nyantakyi, also known as Mr. DO, and I’m honored to be your Science Secondary Community host. With 15+ years of experience teaching physics, chemistry, and mathematics, I have developed a wealth of knowledge and expertise in these subjects. I’ve served as a head of department for science for two years, led physics and mathematics for five years, and taught in international schools across Ghana, South Africa, Dubai, China, and Hong Kong. I’m experienced in curricula such as CAPS, IB, A-Level, AP, and BC, and I tailor my approach to meet the needs of diverse student populations. I prioritize student-centered learning, PBL, and empowering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Let’s collaborate and create a thriving community that supports and inspires science.
